Andrea Medrea
Andrea-Daniela Medrea are 21 de ani și este studentă și președinte al Ligii Studenților din Facultatea de Electronică și Telecomunicații (LSFETc), Timișoara. Dacă ar fi să se descrie printr-un singur cuvânt, acesta ar fi „implicare”. Intrarea în această organizație studențească i-a schimbat total percepția legată de studenție. În anul I era doar o altă studentă din cei 300, învăța foarte mult și școala era singura ei activitate. Însă cunoscând persoane din asociație și implicându-se într-o grămadă de activități, s-a schimbat foarte mult. Aceasta este perioada în care ne formăm, spune Andreea, învățăm să fim responsabili, să lucrăm în echipă și să ne organizăm cât mai eficient timpul, lucruri care ne vor ajuta în viitor.
La prima vedere, pare o persoană destul de timidă, dar toți cei care ajung să lucreze cu ea sau să o cunoască mai bine, își dau seama că adevărul e exact pe dos. Dezvoltarea personală a rămas pentru ea o activitate continuă, îi place să dea tuturor șansa să o învețe lucruri noi și cere mereu ajutorul când întâmpină diferite greutăți.
Unul dintre obiectivele sale principale este ca, prin acțiunile pe care le face, să poată îmbunătăți puțin această comunitate. Chiar dacă schimbările se fac în timp, crede Andrea, important este să nu fii sigurul care își dorește acest lucru.
Face parte dintr-o generație nouă, una cu mult potențial, care se gândește mereu și la ceilalți. O generație care își spune punctul de vedere oricât de dureros ar fi și nu se teme că, dacă face acest lucru, e în pericol să „nu treacă examenul”. Este dureros pentru ea să vadă studenți care nu-și exprimă punctul de vedere pentru că se tem de „ce va zice profesorul”. Consideră că generația ei este cea care trebuie să schimbe sistemul de învățământ și se bucură că vede multe persoane implicate în acest sens, deși de multe ori aceste persoane nu sunt luate în serios pe motivul că „nu prea au experiență”.
Pentru ea, voluntariatul a ajuns să fie un hobby de care crede că o să fie legată chiar și după terminarea studiilor. Chiar dacă îi ocupă aproape tot timpul liber și nu primește nimic în schimb, îi aduce o foarte mare satisfacție să vadă rezultatele propriei munci, rezultate care devin apoi și o sursă de motivație. Și chiar dacă există și momente în care pare că își pierde motivația, oamenii din jurul ei o ajută întotdeauna să și-o recapete și reușește de fiecare dată să facă mai mult decât își propune.
După o săptămână încărcată, în weekend, își dedică și ei un timp – uneori, spune ea, tot ce vrea e să asculte în căști melodia preferată și să citească toată ziua o carte bună – dar îi place foarte mult și să se plimbe și să petreacă timp cu cei dragi.
At 21 years old, Andrea-Daniela Medrea is a student and president of the League of Students from the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications (LSFETc), Timișoara. If it were to describe herself in one word, that word would be „involvement.” Joining this student organization completely changed her perception of student life. In the first year she was just another student out of the 300, she was learning a lot and school was her only activity. But getting to know people from the association and getting involved in a lot of activities has changed her a lot. This is the time when we train, says Andrea, we learn to be responsible, to work in a team and to organize our time as efficiently as possible, and all these things will help us in the future.
At a first glance, she seems a pretty shy person, but everyone who gets to work with her or get to know her better realizes that the truth is exactly the opposite. Her personal development has remained a continuous activity for her, she likes to give everyone the chance to learn new things and she always asks for help when she encounters various difficulties.
One of her main goals is to be able, through her actions, to improve this community a little bit. Even if the changes require quite a long time, Andrea believes it is important not to be the only one who wants this.
She is part of a new generation, one with a lot of potential, who is always thinking of others. A generation that expresses its point of view no matter how painful it is and is not afraid that, when it does this, it could be in danger of „failing the exam.” It is painful for her to see that some students do not express their point of view because they are afraid of „what the teacher will say.” She believes that her generation is the one that needs to change the education system and is glad to see many people involved in this, although these people are often not taken seriously on the grounds that „they do not have much experience.”
For her, volunteering has become a hobby that she believes she will be connected to even after graduation. Even if it occupies almost all of her spare time and she receives nothing in return, it brings her great satisfaction to see the results of her own work, results which then become a source of motivation. And even if there are moments when she seems to lose her motivation, the people around her always help her regain it and she always manages to do more than she intends.
After a busy week, on the weekends, she takes some time for herself – sometimes, she says, all she wants is to listen to her favorite song on headphones and read a good book all day – but she also really likes to walk and spend time with loved ones.
