Larissa Baiaș
Larissa Baiaș are 25 de ani și este din Timișoara, lucru pe care ține să-l menționeze deoarece crede cu tărie că acest lucru a avut un impact în conturarea personalității sale și a felului ei de a fi. Crescând în „orașul Revoluției”, crede că întotdeauna a avut dorința instinctivă de a se implica în comunitate pentru a îmbunătăți ceva și mereu a avut în minte că oricine poate produce o schimbare, oricât de neînsemnată aparent.
Cuvântul „voluntariat” a intrat în vocabularul ei în perioada liceului, când a activat în cadrul „Salvați copiii – Timișoara” timp de aproximativ doi ani. Apoi, intrând la facultate și făcând parte dintr-o comunitate cu totul nouă și atât de diversă, a ales să se implice în organizația studențească din facultatea în care studia (Liga Studenților Farmaciști din Timișoara), unde a început să își dedice tot mai mult timp reprezentării studențești, iar când a simțit că e momentul potrivit a făcut pasul către mișcarea studențească la nivel național, unde din nou a luat lucrurile treptat. Mereu a fost genul de persoană care a făcut lucrurile când a simțit ea că e timpul lor (cel puțin raportat la dezvoltarea ei personală), cu meticulozitate și destul de natural, fără să sară pașii pe care îi considera importanți la momentul respectiv.
În Alianța Națională a Organizațiilor Studențești din România (ANOSR) a simțit că într-adevăr și-a dedicat timpul unei cauze care merită, iar activitatea ei și a colegilor cu care a colaborat a avut un impact real asupra comunității din care face parte, iar pentru un „activist”, spune Larissa, aceasta e cea mai frumoasă răsplată. Dacă ar fi să rezume într-o frază ce a învățat în ANOSR, atât din postura de Vicepreședinte Educațional, cât și, mai apoi, din cea de Vicepreședinte Relații Publice, aceasta ar fi că nimic nu trebuie să fie ușor, ci trebuie doar să merite efortul. Și, pentru ea, a meritat!
Acum începe o nouă etapă din viața ei și, recunoaște ea, de multe ori începuturile pot să pară înfricoșătoare. Are încredere totuși că este pregătită să se adapteze la orice, pentru că acesta, crede ea, e secretul „tinerilor din ziua de azi”. Tinerii de azi au o minte deschisă, gata să îmbrățișeze noi provocări, își găsesc mai ușor rostul în comunitate și au un simț civic mai dezvoltat, fapt care le lărgește mult orizonturile și le dă speranța că pot face un bine în orice context. Larissa are încredere că toată generația tânără din România este așa, că nu trăiește ea într-o iluzie, „într-o bulă a ei”, și că, așa stând lucrurile, este de datoria noastră să învățăm unii de la alții.
Larissa Baiaș is 25 years old and Timișoara is her hometown, something she expressly mentions because she strongly believes that this city really had an impact on shaping both her personality and her way of living. Growing up in „the city of the Revolution,” she believes she always had the instinctive desire to get involved in the community in order to improve one thing or another and she always kept in mind that anyone can make a change, no matter how seemingly insignificant.
The word „volunteering” entered her vocabulary during high school, when she worked in „Save the children – Timișoara” for about two years. Then, entering college and being part of a completely new and quite diverse community, she chose to get involved in the student organization of her faculty (League of Pharmacist Students in Timișoara), where she began to dedicate more and more time to student representation, and, when she felt it was the right time, she took the step towards the national student movement, where she again took things gradually. She was always the kind of person who did things only when she felt it was their time (at least in relation to her personal development), meticulously and quite naturally, without skipping the steps she considered important at the time.
In the National Alliance of Student Organizations in Romania (ANOSR) she felt that she really dedicated her time to a worthy cause, and both her activity and that of the colleagues she collaborated with had a real impact on the community she belongs to, which, for an „activist,” says Larissa, is the most beautiful reward. If she were to summarize in one sentence what she learned in ANOSR, both from being Vice President of Education and, later, Vice President of Public Relations, this would be that nothing is meant to be easy, it just has to be worthwhile. And, for her, it was worth it!
Now a new stage in her life begins and, she admits, beginnings can often seem scary. She is, however, confident that she is ready to adapt to anything, because this, she believes, is „today’s young people” secret. Today’s young people have an open mind, are ready to embrace new challenges, find more easily their place in the community, and they also have a more developed civic sense, which broadens their horizon and gives them hope that they can do good in any context. Larissa is confident that the whole young generation in Romania is like that, that she does not live in an illusion, „in a bubble of her own,” and that, things being this way, it is our duty to learn from each other.
