Denisa Coraș
Pentru Denisa Coraș, voluntariatul e un mod de viață, pentru că dintotdeauna a simțit dorința arzătoare de a le aduce oamenilor un zâmbet pe buze. A început de mică, prin a-și dona jucăriile favorite, iar acum, la 21 de ani, organizează activități și proiecte pentru dezvoltarea și aprecierea abilităților oamenilor. Țelul ei în viață e să reușească să inspire oamenii să ofere timp și energie pentru a veni în ajutorul comunității, pentru că, până la urmă, aceste lucruri definesc un voluntar.
Dar Denisei nu-i place să vorbească prea mult doar despre ea, pentru că ceilalți, cei care îi transmit motivația cu care se trezește în fiecare dimineață, sunt cel puțin la fel de importanți. În orice moment al zilei, spune Denisa, și-ar închide telefonul pentru a le da toată atenția oamenilor din viața ei: prietenii, echipa, familia. Dar pentru ea sunt importanți, de fapt, toți oamenii. Ei, voluntarii, spune Denisa, se străduiesc să construiască o comunitate în care orice om să se poată dezvolta și să-și depășească limitele și să creeze contexte în care să se poată forma conexiuni între oameni cu aceleași interese.
Oamenii viitorului sunt „tinerii din ziua de azi “, pe care unii îi blamează și îi consideră „prea liberi”, „prea diferiți”, insistând prea mult asupra trecutului („pe vremea mea nu aveai voie să…”) și uitând că tinerii sunt, ca întotdeauna, energici, ambițioși și mereu gata să-ți facă ziua mai bună sau mai ușoară. Are norocul, spune ea, să fie înconjurată de oameni extraordinari, care știu să scoată la iveală părțile distractive ale muncii, care văd partea plină a paharului și care merg până în pânzele albe pentru a obține ce vor.
Iar în ceea ce privește confuzia des întâlnită între activism și protest, Denisa ține să precizeze, în încheiere, că activismul înseamnă, totuși, mai degrabă o semnalare a problemelor cu care tinerii se vor confrunta de-a lungul vieții. De aceea, recomandarea ei pentru toți tinerii este să se implice activ în comunitatea în care vor trebui să crească copiii lor, pentru că ei, tinerii, sunt adevăratele modele de urmat și mereu e loc de mai bine.
For Denisa Coraș, volunteering is a way of life, because she has always felt a burning desire to bring a smile to people’s faces. She started as a child, donating her favorite toys, and now, at the age of 21, she organizes activities and projects for the development and appreciation of people’s skills. Her goal in life is to be able to inspire people to give time and energy to coming to the aid of the community, because, in the end, these things are precisely what defines a volunteer.
But Denisa doesn’t like to talk too much just about herself, because the others, the ones who give her the motivation she wakes up with every morning, are at least as important. At any time of the day, says Denisa, she would turn off her phone to give all the attention to the people in her life: friends, team, family. But for her, in fact, everyone is important. They, the volunteers, says Denisa, strive to build a community in which any person can develop and push their limits and create contexts in which connections can be formed between people who share the same interests.
The people of the future are the „young people of today,” whom some blame and consider „too free” and „too different,” insisting too much on the past („in my time you were not allowed to…”) and forgetting that young people, as always, are energetic, ambitious and at any time ready to make your day better or easier. She is lucky, she says, to be surrounded by extraordinary people, who know how to reveal the fun parts of work, who see the full side of the glass and who would fight until the end in order to accomplish what they want.
And regarding the common confusion between activism and protest, Denisa wants to specify, in conclusion, that activism means rather a signaling of the problems that young people will face throughout life. Therefore, her recommendation for all young people is to get actively involved in the community where their children will have to grow up, because they, the young people, are the real role models and, of course, there is always room for improvement.
