Loredana Luțescu
Loredana Luțescu – Lori, sau „nu mai termini odată cu voluntariatul?!” – are 26 de ani și a început să facă voluntariat în primul an de facultate, deoarece simțea nevoia să aparțină unui grup și, în plus, i se părea cool, dar nu plănuia să facă acest lucru pentru prea mult timp. Însă desigur că lucrurile nu au stat chiar așa și, de la an la an, s-a implicat și mai mult, iar acum, dacă ar fi să spună ceva despre ea ar fi că iubește voluntariatul și i-ar fi plăcut să-l practice dintotdeauna. Voluntariatul și lucrul cu tinerii au devenit un stil de viață pentru ea. Consideră că ei sunt comunitatea din care face parte, care a ajutat-o să se dezvolte și în cadrul căreia a simțit că și ea a putut fi de ajutor de-a lungul timpului.
Crede că persoanele din jurul ei o văd drept o persoană foarte implicată și dedicată, dar uneori mult prea încăpățânată. Ar lăsa oricând telefonul din mână pentru explorarea unui oraș nou, pentru o plimbare cu mașina sau vizitarea unui muzeu nonconformist. În ceea ce privește persoanele care nu o cunosc încă, crede că acestea o consideră mult prea serioasă. Din acest motiv, spune Lori, i-ar plăcea să țină mult mai multe traininguri, pentru ca oamenii să o cunoască și să poată să le împărtășească din cunoștințele ei.
Când este momentul să vorbească despre lucrurile mișto pe care le-a făcut, îi este destul de greu să aleagă, mărturisește ea. Pentru ea contează mult faptul că vede oamenii fericiți și impresionați la capătul unui eveniment pe care l-a coordonat și se bucură când îi vede motivați să facă mai multe, când, mai târziu, îi vede pe ei coordonând proiecte și conducând organizații. Mai specific îi vine însă în minte prima campanie de teasing a proiectului StudentFest, primul protest, primul mulțumesc primit de la un student pentru ajutor.
Principala sa motivație de a continua să facă lucrurile ca și până acum o reprezintă oamenii pe care ajunge să îi cunoască prin intermediul acestei meserii de activist. Pentru ea, activismul înseamnă o preocupare continuă și o serie de principii care te ghidează zilnic, nu doar când activezi specific într-un ONG.
Înseamnă să știi pentru ce lupți, să te implici cu adevărat în cauza/cauzele tale și să fii mereu conștient că, chiar dacă nu o să reușești mereu, întotdeauna o luptă pierdută reprezintă și un câștig.
„Tinerii din ziua de azi”, încheie Loredana, sunt motorul comunității, sunt oameni proactivi, care au idei multe și îndrăznețe și nu renunță ușor la visurile lor, sunt oamenii care îndrăznesc să își dorească să se mândrească cu mai multe realizări.
Loredana Luțescu – Lori, or „will you ever be done with volunteering ?!” – is 26 years old and started volunteering in her first year of college, because she felt the need to belong to a group and, besides, she thought it was a cool thing to do, but she did not plan to do it for too long. But of course things didn’t work out that way and with every year she got even more involved and now, if she had to say one thing about her, it would be that she loves volunteering and would have liked to begin much sooner. Volunteering and working with young people has become a way of living for her. She believes that they are the community she belongs to, a community which helped her develop and in which she always could feel that she could be helpful as well.
She thinks that the people around her see her as a very involved and dedicated person, but much too stubborn sometimes. She would always put away her phone when exploring a new city, going for a drive, or visiting a nonconformist museum. As for people who don’t know her yet, she thinks they consider her far too serious. For this reason, says Lori, she would like to hold many more training sessions, so that people can know her and she can share her knowledge.
When it’s time to talk about the cool things she did, she confesses it’s pretty difficult to choose. For her, it matters a lot that she sees people happy and impressed at the end of an event she coordinated and is glad to see them motivated to do more, when, later on, she sees them coordinating projects and leading organizations. More specifically, however, what come to mind are the first teasing campaign of the StudentFest project, the first protest, the first thank you received from a student that she could help.
Her main motivation to continue doing things as before is represented by the people she gets to know through being an activist. For her, activism means a continuous concern and a series of principles that guide you on a daily basis, not only when you work specifically in an NGO. It means knowing what you are fighting for, really getting involved in your cause / causes and always being aware that, even if you will not always succeed, a lost fight is always a win in itself.
„Today’s young people,” concludes Loredana, are the engine of the community, they are proactive people, who have many and bold ideas and do not easily give up their dreams, they are the people who dare to want to be proud of ever more achievements.
