Mădălina Rusan
Ioana-Mădălina Rusan are 19 ani și este studentă la Facultatea de Automatică și Calculatoare din cadrul Universității Politehnica din Timișoara, voluntară în cadrul Ligii AC, mentor în cadrul CoderDojo Timișoara și ambasador al Generației Vot. „Activism” înseamnă, pentru ea, implicare, spirit civic și muncă pe care o faci cu drag pentru o schimbare în bine.
Ioana este o persoană activă, care vrea să ajute și să contribuie la îmbunătățirea multor lucruri din jurul ei. Un prim astfel de lucru ar fi, de exemplu, educația informală. A început să cocheteze cu predatul încă din liceu, când a devenit mentor de Web Development în cadrul unui Club de IT destinat copiilor (CoderDojo).
Un alt lucru cool cu care a cochetat a fost robotica, făcând parte dintr-o echipă dublă campioană națională la cel mai mare concurs inter-liceal de robotică și semifinalistă internațională la campionatul mondial din Statele Unite ale Americii (FIRST Championship – FIRST Tech Challenge).
Despre „tinerii din ziua de azi” Ioana crede că sunt implicați, sunt persoane cărora le pasă de cei din jur, sunt cei care luptă pentru un viitor frumos, viitorul la care au visat generațiile părinților și bunicilor noștri și care acum poate deveni realitate.
La fel ca oricărui tânăr, și ei îi este greu să-și închidă telefonul, mai ales că nu-i place să stea pe margine și vrea să fie la curent cu tot ce se întâmplă în jurul ei. Dar de multe ori totuși alege să nu să lase o notificare să-i întrerupă gândurile sau să strice frumusețea momentului. Spre exemplu, când se pierde în lumea cărților, când petrece timp cu oamenii dragi, sau când vizitează pentru prima dată un loc frumos, pe care vrea să-l cunoască direct, nu prin intermediul unui ecran.
În domeniul voluntariatului, crede Ioana, mereu există loc de îmbunătățiri și de aceea, dacă ar putea să trăiască doar din asta, ar fi voluntar 24/7. În plus, ea consideră că toți oamenii trebuie să facă parte dintr-o comunitate care să îi descrie sau cu care să se identifice. Ei i-a plăcut să facă parte din astfel de comunități încă din liceu. Cel mai mult se identifică cu comunitatea STEEM din România, însă rezonează și cu grupuri mai mici, al căror scop este unul civic sau de binefacere pentru cei din jur.
Motivația pentru a face tot ce a făcut până acum a găsit-o în zâmbetele persoanelor cu care a colaborat și cu care continuă să colaboreze, precum și în simplul fapt că știe că face un bine și că ajută cât de mult poate. Crede că oamenii din jurul ei sunt mândri de ea și urmăresc cu bucurie fiecare pas pe care îl face, iar pentru viitor își dorește ca și cei care nu o cunosc încă să vadă că face aceste lucruri și pentru ei și, de fapt, pentru toată lumea.
Ioana-Mădălina Rusan is 19 and she is a student at the Faculty of Automatics and Computer Science at the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, a volunteer at the AC League, a mentor at CoderDojo Timișoara and an ambassador of the Voting Generation. For her, “Activism” means involvement, civic spirit and work that you do with love for a change for the better.
Ioana is an active person, who wants to help and contribute to the improvement of many things around her. One such thing would be, for example, informal education. She started flirting with teaching since high school, when she became a Web Development mentor in an IT Club for children (CoderDojo).
Another cool thing she flirted with was robotics, being part of a team that won the biggest national high school robotics competition twice and was one of the semifinalists at the World Championship in the United States of America (FIRST Championship – FIRST Tech Challenge).
About ”today’s young people” Ioana believes that they are involved, they are people who care about those around them, they are those who fight for a beautiful future, the future that our parents and grandparents dreamed of and which can now become a reality.
Like any other young person, she too finds it difficult to shut down her phone, especially since she does not like to be on the sidelines and wants to be aware of everything that is happening around her. But there are still many times when she chooses not to leave a notification interrupt her thoughts or spoil the beauty of the moment. For example, when she gets lost in the world of books, when she spends quality time with loved ones, or when she visits for the first time a beautiful place, which she intends to perceive directly, not through a screen.
Ioana believes that in the field of volunteering there is always room for improvement and that is why she would be a volunteer 24/7, if she could make a living from it alone. In addition, she believes that all people must be part of a community that describes them or with which they can identify themselves. She has enjoyed being part of such communities since high school. She identifies the most with the STEEM community in Romania, but she also resonates with smaller groups that either have a civic purpose or focus on charity for those around them.
She found the motivation to do everything she has done so far in the smiles of the people she has collaborated and continues to collaborate with, as well as in the simple fact of knowing that she is doing something good and that she helps people as much as she can. She thinks that the people around her are proud of her and gladly follow every step she takes, and for the future she wants those who do not know her yet to see that she does these things for them, too, and, in fact, for everyone.
