Patricia Văleanu
Patricia Văleanu are 21 de ani și face voluntariat de când se știe, deoarece mereu a fost atrasă de acea energie pozitivă și i-a plăcut să se înconjoare de oameni fericiți. Cei din jur și persoanele apropiate o văd și cu bune și cu rele: agitată, stresantă, enervantă, dar iubitoare, înțelegătoare și veselă toată ziua. Dacă ar fi să numească un singur lucru care-i lipsește cel mai mult, acela ar fi timpul de a învăța fără încetare lucruri noi.
De doi ani și jumătate face parte din OSUT, organizație despre care spune că este „cea mai faină din toată Universitatea de Vest din Timișoara”. Această organizație a crescut-o și i-a marcat anii de studenție și viața, îi dă puterea de a se dezvolta pe zi ce trece din ce în ce mai mult și totodată este locul în care simte că face parte din cea mai puternică familie. OSUT, în cadrul căreia Patricia este acum vice președinte, ajută tinerii voluntari să-și depășească propriile limite și reprezintă cu tărie interesele studenților din cadrul universității. Și, deși situația actuală nu le permite să fie împreună la multe activități ce ar fi avut loc fizic, se bucură totuși că mișcarea de activism a tinerilor voluntari a continuat măcar în mediul online, conturând noi idei de proiecte și utilizând tot ce este nou și util pentru societate.
Legat de tinerii din ziua de azi, crede că aceștia sunt la fel ca toți tinerii din toate zilele de până acum: învolburați, cu gânduri, pasiuni, vise și marea dorință de a da lumea peste cap!
Mărturisește că e dependentă de telefon, dar menționează că în OSUT există regula de a lăsa telefonul deoparte în momentele importante, fie că e vorba de un team building la Poiana Mărului sau pe Zoom, de o ședință de lucru, sau doar de comunicarea cu membrii.
Ca voluntar, a făcut „multe lucruri mișto”, de la promovarea intensivă a organizației și crearea de noi obiceiuri pentru viitorii secretari generali ai acesteia, până la câștigarea de finanțări alături de președintele organizației, sau organizarea proiectelor tradiționale OSUT alături de echipele de management. Dar toate acestea, spune Patricia, sunt trecătoare, și de aceea ea se mândrește de fapt cel mai mult cu oamenii pe care i-a format, oameni care acum se dezvoltă, fac ceea ce iubesc și sunt integrați în diverse structuri și care i-au rămas cei mai buni prieteni și continuă să o motiveze, susținând-o în tot ceea ce face și încurajând-o la fiecare pas. Acesta este, de fapt, crede ea, și cel mai bun câștig din tot ceea ce fac împreună: faptul că se au unii pe alții și formează un tot unitar.
Dacă ar putea face toată viața doar ceea ce-i place, ar face din toate câte puțin, dar, dacă ar trebui să aleagă doar trei lucruri, acelea ar fi: activități pentru oameni faini, fotografie și consiliere. Toate aceste trei lucruri sunt pasiuni, dar și joburi de viitor și cu siguranță, încheie Patricia, se vor regăsi și în lucrarea ei de licență.
Patricia Văleanu is 21 and has been volunteering all her life, because she has always been attracted to that positive energy and she liked to surround herself with happy people. Those around her, as well as the persons close to her, see the bad along with the good about her: agitated, stressful, annoying, but loving, understanding and cheerful all day. If she were to name one thing she misses the most, that would be the extra time to constantly learn new things.
For two and a half years she has been part of OSUT, an organization she says is “the best in the whole of the West University of Timișoara.” This organization has raised her and marked her years of study and her entire life, and it gives her the strength to grow more and more, being, at the same time, the place where she feels part of the strongest family. OSUT, of which Patricia is now vice president, helps young volunteers push their own limits and represent students’ interests within the university. And, although the current situation does not allow them to be actually together for many activities that would have normally required a physical presence, she is still glad that the young volunteers’ activism movement continued at least in the online environment, outlining new project ideas and using all that is new and useful to society.
Regarding today’s young people, she believes that they are like all young people of days gone by: swirling, with thoughts, passions, dreams and the great desire to turn the world upside down!
She confesses that she is addicted to her phone, but mentions that in OSUT there is the rule of putting the phone aside at important moments, whether it is a team building at Poiana Mărului or on Zoom, a work meeting, or just communicating with members.
As a volunteer, she did “many cool things,” from intensively promoting the organization and creating new habits for its future general secretaries, to obtaining funds together with the president of the organization, or organizing the traditional OSUT projects together with the management teams. But all this, says Patricia, is transient, and that is why she actually is most proud of the people she trained, people who are now developing, doing what they love and are integrated into various structures and who are still best friends with her and continue to motivate her, supporting her in everything she does and encouraging her at every step. This, in fact, she believes is the greatest gain that comes out of everything they do together: that they have each other and form a whole.
If she could do all her life only what she likes, she would do a little of everything, but if she had to choose only three things, those would be: activities for nice people, photography and counseling. All these three are passions, but also reliable future jobs and that’s why, concluded Patricia, they will certainly have a place in her PhD thesis.
